Naxalites disrupt train services in Bihar

Naxalities disrupted train services on the Kiul-Jhajha and Kiul-Jamalpur sections in Bihar, kidnapped two cabin men and had an encounter with the police late last night, police said on Thursday.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Upadhyaya said that the naxalites, numbering around 15-20, had kidnapped a cabin man of Gopalpur railway halt on Kiul-Jhajha section and ordered him to stop the train services.
Train services in the two sections were hampered between midnight lastnight and 7 am on Thursday, the ASP said adding that the naxalites later released the cabin man.
Sub-divisional Police Officer Pankaj Kumar said that the naxalites had also kidnapped and threatened the cabin man of Urain railway station on Kiul-Jamalpur rail section and ordered him too to stop rail services.
Train services on the section were restored after 4 am this morning, he said adding the cabin man was released by the naxalites, he said.
The naxalites are observing a week-long protest, official sources said.
