CID arrests criminal from Ekbalpore for murder

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested a notorious criminal Md Aizuddin from Ekbalpore area on Wednesday night in connection with the murder of one Md Ismail.

The incident had taken place on May 19 at Pailan in South 24 Parganas in which Aizuddin had killed Ismail by firing from point blank range.

The police had earlier arrested one Md Adil in this connection and came to know about Aizuddin after interrogating him.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint raid was conducted by officers from CID, cops from Bishnupur police station in South 24 Parganas and Ekbalpore police station. Aizuddin had attempted to flee realising that the police had conducted a raid in his hideout. But his attempt turned futile as the policemen chased him for around 500 metre and arrested the accused.

Further investigation revealed that his close aide Khokon, who is in a correctional home, had chalked out the plan and executed it from being behind the bars. Following Khokon's directions, Aizuddin had murdered Ismail. The police ascertained that old rivalry was the reason behind the murder. So far, the police have arrested two persons in connection with the murder.

A police officer said that they are trying to find whether anyone else is involved in the murder along with Adil and Aizuddin. The police have interrogated Aizuddin to know that how Khokon had managed to pass on information as he was in a correctional home when the plan was chalked out.

The police came to know that there are some more people involved who had been passing information to Aizuddin about the victim.
