Education Secy transferred

With the poor results in the Bihar Plus-Two examination, in which 64 per cent of the examinees failed, triggering student agitation, the state government on Wednesday ordered transfer of the education department secretary.

According to a notification, education department secretary Jitendra Shrivastava has been made new Commissioner of Magadh division.

The 1997 batch IAS officer R L Chongthu waiting for posting will take Shrivastava (2000 batch IAS) position in the education department, the notification said. In the limited reshuffle carried, Jitendra Kumar Singh (2006 batch IAS) and who is Joint Secretary in Sugar Cane Industries has been given additional charge of Commissioner Sugar cane Industries.
