Toppers, aged, students pass out of NIOS in 2017

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has said that there are various flexibilities are inbuilt in the NIOS as differently-abled, over-age and others have secured good marks in senior secondary exams this year. The school is not only producing toppers but giving a platform to others who were deprived of education due to some reasons, it said.

The NIOS has choice of medium of instructions, pace of learning, combination of academic and vocational subjects, flexible scheme of examination (nine chances to learn to pass/appear and improve the grade).

It also offers credit accumulations, transfer of credit from other boards, validity of registration over the period of 5 years, part admission are some of the flexibilities in NIOS scheme of studies at the secondary and senior secondary levels to enable learner's continuation.

It conducts public examination twice every year and also the learner can avail the facility of On Demand Examination round the year.
