Noida Authority releases online list of 72 defaulters

The Noida Authority has uploaded the details of 91 housing projects in Noida, of which 72 builders are defaulters.

The details have been put on authority's website which will benefit the potential buyer to choose the best while purchasing flats.

The list includes big names like Unitech, Supertech, Omaxe, Logix, Antriksh, Paras, Prateek and Amrapali. The builders have allegedly not cleared the dues worth Rs 9,993.10 crore.

Following the directions of Noida's Chief Executive Officer Amit Mohan Prasad, the authority has shortlisted 72 builders as defaulters and their project-wise details of land dues payable to the authority have been uploaded on the authority's official website.

"We have compiled the list of 91 building projects and uploaded the same on our website. We are yet to put the list of defaulters with regard to commercial, residential, industrial and institutional land in Noida.

The dues include the interest levied, as the builder failed to pay the installments," said a senior official.

As per records, Unitech group owes Rs 4,800 crore to the authority, Amrapali group owes Rs 963 crore and Granite Gate properties owes Rs 276 crore.

Amit Mohan Prasad had stated that the defaulters will also be named on hoardings along major city roads if they fail to clear dues.

The homebuyers have been demanding that the defaulters should be named on the authority's website,

so that the potential buyers can make an informed choice while purchasing flats.

"This is the first time that the authority has put defaulters' list online. We have been repeatedly demanding that defaulters should be publicly named, but the authority officials did not pay heed to our demand. Now, it is too late as thousands of buyers have already invested their hard-earned money," said Indrish Gupta, President, Noida Extension Flat Owner's Welfare Association(NEFOWA).
