Army foils attack by Pakistan's Border Action Team along LoC in Uri

An attack by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) on Indian Army patrol along the Line of Control in Uri has been foiled, news agency ANI reported.
"Alert troops foiled a BAT attack on our patrol party in Uri sector today," an army official was quoted as saying by PTI. He added that two of the attackers were killed and that the infiltration attempt "effectively repulsed". Operation, meanwhile, is underway.

Earlier in May, a Pakistani Border Action Team crossed into Indian territory and ambushed an Indian Army patrol. They killed two jawans and mutilated their bodies.

On Tuesday, the Army released a video of "punitive fire assaults" on Pakistani posts in the Naushera sector of the LoC. The video, reportedly shot on May 9, eight days after the beheading of two Indian securitymen by soldiers of the Pakistan Army, shows Pakistani posts on a ridge being destroyed by 84 mm rocket launchers, anti-tank guided missiles and 106 mm recoilless guns.

On May 21, the Indian Army foiled an infiltration attempt in the Nougam sector of North Kashmir by killing four terrorists. Two jawans were also martyred in the encounter
