Autorickshaw drivers who robbed & murdered passengers; held
Two men who ran autorickshaw to rob passengers were arrested on Thursday for dispossessing and murdering a passenger on Noida-link Road.
The incident occurred on April 21 when two brothers, Nafiz and Hafiz hired an auto around 2 am towards Badarpur Border.
Apart from them, another passenger was already present inside the vehicle. After driving a few metres, a fourth passenger boarded the auto after which the brothers were asked to part from their belongings at knife point. When the brother duo started putting up a fight, they were thrown off the vehicle.
Hafiz came under the wheels and killed as the driver in a bid to flee, ran over him.
The accused, identified Bhura alias Izhar (30) and Sonu (22).
The investigators received an information that one Bhura gang was involved. The third accused,Deva alias Dinesh is admitted in GTB Hospital with head injuries sustained during a quarrel. He will be arrested once he is discharged from the hospital, said the officer.
The robbed articles, including the victim's cell phone, have been recovered along with the auto and knife. Bhura was earlier doing a private job in Old Delhi but due to his addiction to drugs, he left his job. Later, he started driving an auto but formed the gang over money.
