Looking forward to meeting Mamata: Hasina

Visiting Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday, told a select group of journalists that she was giving much prority to a proposed agreement on the Ganga barrage project. On Friday, the Bangladesh High Commission arranged a reception in the Moitree hall of the mission where many diplomats and former High Commissioner were invited. A small group of journalists, were also invited to exchange pleasantries with the Bangladesh Premier.

When asked on the fate of Teesta water sharing agreement, she said she was hopeful of fruitful discussions with the Indian side. She was also looking forward to meeting Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee here in Delhi. "I hope to meet Mamata on Saturday evening, I am glad to hear that she will be present at function to launch the train and bus services between Bangladesh and West Bengal." The Bangladesh PM is known to share a good rapport with the Bengal chief minister. Sheikh Hasina was also deeply appreciative of PM Modi's gesture of going to receive her at the airport.
