KVIC marks centenary celebrations of Gandhi's Satyagraha in Bihar

As part of the Gandhi's Champaran Satyagrah centenary celebrations, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), on Wednesday organised several programs at Patna and Motihari, the district headquarters of East Champaran.

Chairman VK Saxena informed that KVIC had set up the largest pavilion in Gandhi Maidan. "Selfie with Gandhi and honey-bee information centres were hotshots and most visited places at Patna and Motihari as well," he said. Saxena also informed that the state unit of KVIC had organised a state-level exhibition at Town Hall Maidan in Motihari, where local Khadi institutions and Prime Minister Employment Generation Program units of five districts of Bihar and adjoining states took active part. KVIC also distributed five charkhas and one looms each in those 13 villages – where Mahatma Gandhi had visited during his Satyagrah in 1917.
