New Delhi: In a bizarre incident, an additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) Prashant Kumar Jha in Bihar has been brutally thrashed by miscreants in a running train between Gaya-Patna rail section over a trivial issue of ignoring the handkerchief placed at a vacant seat.
The judicial official was first beaten by two co-passengers over the issue and then by villagers of the passengers, who had come in hoards at the Vanawar Halt, which is near to Makhdumpur station under Jehanabad district. The incident took place on Monday when Jha was returning to Patna after finishing some banking work in Gaya.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Wednesday arrested two persons in the matter on the complaint of Jha. According to GRP officials, the judicial official who managed to reach GRP of his own and registered a complaint against the miscreants.
On the basis of video footage provided by a co-passenger, the GRP personnel nabbed two accused.
Notably, Patna-Gaya rail section is well-known for the notorious behaviour of the behaviour of local passengers. Occupying a seat by throwing towels, handkerchiefs, umbrellas, etc have become a routine affair in this rail route and whenever any passenger attempts to 'grab' the 'reserved' seat, they blow it out of proportion and start thrashing the passenger.
