Haryana Govt recommended CBI probe into land acquisitions

New Delhi: The Haryana government has recommended a CBI probe into alleged irregularities committed during the previous Congress rule vis-a-vis land acquisition in Rohtak and Sonipat districts, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar told the Assembly on Tuesday.
Speaking during Zero Hour in the Budget Session of the Assembly here, he said the opposition Congress had no right to talk about the plight of farmers.
"They themselves acquired land of farmers to benefit some builders," he alleged.
Khattar said the state had already handed over to the CBI investigation into three cases related to re-allotment of a plot to Associated Journals Ltd in Panchkula near here, an industrial plot in Panchkula, and the Manesar land case. The Supreme Court had set aside the land acquisition process executed by the previous Congress government in Manesar.
The then government had threatened innocent farmers and extended huge benefits to real estate developers and builders in the name of land acquisition, Khattar said.
