Guj polls: PM to address seven rallies on December 3 and 4

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address seven public rallies in both Saurashtra and south Gujarat regions on December 3 and 4. On the first day of his two-day visit to the state, the PM will address three public rallies in Baruch, Surendranagar and Rajkot. He will also address another four public rallies in Dharampur, Bhavnagar, Junagad, and Jamnagar on the second day, BJP general secretary and party's state in-charge Bhupendra Yadav told media persons in Ahmadabad on Thursday.
In the two-phase elections , Saurashtra region plays a very important role as this is the commercial region of Gujarat. Therefore "son-of-the-soil" PM Modi seems to have placed Saurashtra high in his election priorities.
He also addressed 6 to 7 rallies in this region on both November 27 and 29.
With his homeboy image, Modi has also lent a personal touch to BJP's poll campaign for Gujarat elections this time, that may help the party for a fifth straight win, political observers feel.
Setting the saffron tone and following the previous Assembly elections BJP may arrange as much mass reaching campaign programmes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which will be announced by the state leadership after security check and getting a nod from PMO on locations, the BJP leaders of Gujarat asserted.
The star campaigners include Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states—Yogi Adityanath and Vasundhara Raje and other senior state leaders.
In the first phase, 89 constituencies will vote on December 9 and rest out of 182 constituencies will vote on December 14. The result will out on December 18.
