Farmers to get adequate compensation for land acquisition, says Manohar Lal

New Delhi: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the award of the land to be acquired for the 152D Green Corridor will be revised so that the farmers get adequate and satisfactory value of their land.

Discussion regarding the compensation rates for the land to be acquired for the 152D Green Corridor, which will be constructed from Ismailabad to Kotputli, was held in the meeting of Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Manohar Lal here on Wednesday. In the meeting, interaction with the representatives of landowner farmers was also held.

Later, the Chief Minister said about 4,000 acres of land has to be acquired for the 152D Green Corridor. Landowner farmers of about 25 villages are not satisfied with the land acquisition rates. After discussions with the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, it has been decided that a revision in land award will be made so that the farmers get adequate and satisfactory value of their land.

The Chief Minister said earlier the collector rate of land in Haryana was low, which have been increased significantly by the present state government. The award of these farmers was before the increase in the collector rate. Efforts will be made to provide reasonable prices to these farmers, he added.

Others present in the meeting included Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Gen. VK Singh, Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rajesh Khullar, Additional Resident Commissioner, Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi, Chander Shekhar Khare, Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Amit Arya and senior officials of the National Highways Authority of India.
