Despite negative report, Prabhu in home isolation after Saudi visit

New Delhi: At a time when 'infected' people are still not paying heed to known reasons of the spread of Covid-19, the noble act by former union minister Suresh Prabhu has come a lesson for many.

According to sources close to him, Prabhu, who had recently visited Saudi Arabia to attend G20 meeting of Sherpa, has kept himself in isolation to avoid any spread of coronavirus among his close ones.

"Despite Prabhu been tested negative for Covid-19, he decided to keep himself in isolation. He would be in home isolation for next 14 days," the sources said, adding that he has taken the decision to avoid any direct contact with anyone.

The former Railway Minister had left for Saudi Arabia on March 11 when most of delegates had cancelled their visit to the country after WHO had declared Covid-19 a pandemic.

Prabhu as an Indian representative, who has been nominated as Sherpa by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had went Saudi Arabia to attend the two-day conference on world economy. A Sherpa is a personal representative of a head of state who prepares ground for him or her at international summits.

A day after he left for Suadi Arabia, the Prime Minister on March 12 advised that no central government ministers will travel abroad in the upcoming days in the wake of coronavirus scare.
