Boy killed another injured as rusted iron gate falls over them

In a tragic incident recorded in South Delhi's Neb Sarai, an iron gate of a colony came down upon two boys, killing one and leaving another injured.
On Wednesday morning, the two boys, 13-year-old Ajay and nine-year-old Vivek, were playing nearby their locality.

While they were busy playing, an iron gate, which had been installed at the entrance of Krishna Park colony by the resident welfare association (RWA), became loose and fell upon the two boys.

The deceased, Ajay, bore the brunt of the impact when the pointed bars of the heavy iron gate injured him grievously. Vivek also sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Ajay, meanwhile, was declared brought dead by the doctors.

"It was rusted gate, the RWA is at fault. They should have checked the quality of the gate. They are accountable," said Ramwati, a relative of Ajay.

The cops were informed, who then recorded the statements of those present at the spot during the accident.

Both the boys lived with their parents in a JJ camp in Tigri and often played together at the same spot.

"We have registered a case under sections 304A and 337 of IPC. We are investigating who installed the gate and whose negligence led to the death of the boy," said Additional DCP South Chinmoy Biswal.
