BJP to appoint in-charge for each LS constituency ahead of '19 elections

New Delhi: Amid the recent reports over BJP's dwindling acceptance, the Bharatiya Janata Party seems determined to retain its power at the centre in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and is now going to appoint an in charge for all 543 Lok Sabha constituencies.

It has also set up an 11-member committee, 'Chunav Taiyari Toli' in each state focusing to strengthen the party's base there. The committee will also monitor the teams, working to strengthen its booth-level, and to boost the Shakti Kendras.

However, this structure is not new. Reportedly, the saffron party has followed the Bahujan Samajwadi Party's model in this case. Even the party is also looking for youths from any sector, having good communication skills as party's spokesperson, can repair the local and national communication route ahead of the general elections, following Aam Admi Party.

These 'Prabharis' or in charges will be from outside the Lok Sabha constituency which they will oversee.

After the recent defeats in by-polls and facing major political embarrassments in many states the party high-command prefers to analyse the weakness and strengths in the ground level first to retain the throne.

The party's chief Amit Shah who is also known as 'Chanakya' for his poll engineering, also has commenced his tour in every state from earlier this month till July. He also met eminent personalities to take them in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's developmental governance stream through 'Sampark for Samarthan' campaign.

During his tour, all state units have been asked to prepare a detailed report on the current political situations in respective states, the strategy of the opposition, the possibility of alliances, relevant social issues, and the names of those who benefited from central schemes.

Apart from the above, he will also have brainstorming sessions with the workers who are working for the party's expansion in respective states. Each general secretary of the party has been assigned specific states to follow up on after Shah's visit is over.
