BJP promises 33% women reservation in HP Police force to woo 49% women voters

Shimla: On the last day of the election campaign in the poll-bound state Himachal Pradesh, the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh assured of 33 per cent reservation for women in the police force.
During his press conference here on Tuesday morning Singh avouched, "As the Union Home Minister of the country, I am glad to say that BJP-NDA government at the centre has already provided 33 per cent reservation for women in task force and paramilitary force. BJP will provide the same for state police of Himachal also."
In 2017Assembly elections of Devbhoomi, survey shows 49 per cent women vote matters as in the major constituencies the number is higher than male voters. According to the state Election Office's data in Hamirpur women voters are 33,956 with 33,719 male voters. In Mandi 33, 928 are women voters and 32,873 are male, in Sujanpur women voters are 34, 162 and male voters are 31, 991.
Therefore, it shows women are more eager to cast vote and to woo them BJP fielded six women contenders in Himachal – which caused delay in the announcement of final list, Millennium Post also reported in the last month.
While talking to media persons, the senior BJP leader also emphasized on women safety in the state. Mentioning the recent gang rape and murder of a 16-year old girl in Kotkhai he said, "CBI is investigating the case and we are also coming up with Gudiya Help-line to ensure the safety and security of women in the state."
Even during his last public rally on Monday in Arki— where chief minister Virbhadra Singh is contesting the Assembly elections, the Union Home Minister made a scathing attack on the Congress ruled state government and mentioned, "Virbhadra and his party could not ensure the safety of women and girls." Singh also lashed out on Congress during the press conference saying Opposition is trying to defame the incumbent government at the centre. "BJP's sun is rising and Congress's sun is setting down," the minister asserted.
Himachal Pradesh is all set to go to poll on November 9 and BJP top leadership sees "zero performance" of incumbent Congress in the ground and thus the minister also expressed his confidence over saffron party's win with two-third majority in the state.
Calling Demonetization and rolling out of GST as "harsh decisions for people's welfare" the minister also said that strong decisions are "short-term ill, but long-term gain." Rejecting claims on country's week economy Singh mentioned that it is strong enough and that why foreign investment have been rising.
