Bihar DGP hails Pauri Garhwal SSP for timely action in minor rape case

The astounding efforts of Pauri Garhwal SSP Mukhtar Mohsin, who had arrested absconding rape accused of Bihar, has been appreciated by non-other than Bihar DGP PK Thakur for his commendable performance.

In a letter to his Uttarakhand counterpart MA Ganpathy, the Bihar DGP said, "I place on record my deep appreciation to you and your district police team of Pauri Garhwal for providing timely assistance in apprehending the accused Nikhil Priyadarshi along with his father Krishna Bihari Prasad."

"The outstanding leadership of Mukhtar Mohsin, SSP of Pauri Garhwal, and professionalism displayed by the district police team, deserves recognition. It was Mohsin's timely action that helped in arrest of wanted accused persons," Thakur said in his letter to Ganpathy. The father-son duo was on the run for over 80 days prior to their arrest in Uttarakhand's Chila locality under Lakshman Jhoola police station on March 14. Both – Nikhil -- a big-time Patna motor businessman and his father – a retired IAS officer -- are the prime accused in high-profile sex racket case.

Commenting on the letter, Mohsin said, "A word of appreciation from the head of a state always motivates officers. I've done what I've learnt from my seniors. I thank him (Bihar DGP) for recognising the efforts of Uttarakhand police."
