Amit Shah to address rallies in poll-bound Tripura today

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah will address five public rallies and two road shows during his two-day visit (starting from Sunday) to poll-bound state Tripura.
On Sunday, Shah will hold a road show from Bamotia to Mohanpur. In Mohanpur, he will address a public meeting along with the state president of the party Biplob Deb following lunch.
In the afternoon, the BJP chief will also hold two public rallies in Chamnu and Tiliamura and will hold another road show from Chandrapur ISBT to Agartala.
On Monday morning, Shah will hold address press people and then will hold a public rally in Takarjala where ally party IPFT president NC Debbarma will contest the impending Assembly election from and the tribal party is also hopping to make a mark. BJP is contesting in 51 seats and the IPFT has fielded its candidates from nine constituencies reserved for tribal people.
During the afternoon, Shah will hold another two public meetings in Raima Vally and in Khowai.
Meanwhile, the Left-ruled state is likely to witness a fight between the CPM and the BJP in the state. The state had in the past witnessed an electoral battle between the CPM and the Congress. CPM politburo member Prakash Karat also admitted the fact.
Tripura will go to polls in a single phase on February 18 and results will be declared on March 3.
