Narela fire: DFS confirms death of two firefighters

Three days after a massive fire engulfed a plastic factory in Narela industrial area, killing a labourer and injuring three firefighters, number of victims shot up from one to three as the officials from the Delhi Fire Services confirmed on Saturday that two firefighters who were suspected to be trapped under the debris after the top floor of the building fell due to the impact of the blaze, were declared dead after the rescue team took out their bodies. 

Meanwhile, sources said that the search operations are still on by the NDRF, DFS and Delhi Police to rescue a labourer who is still suspected to be trapped.

According to a senior official from the Delhi Fire Services, the two firefighters who lost their lives have been identified as Sunil and Manjeet. 

Sources said that their bodies were taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram hospital for post-mortem after which the officials paid last respects to the firefighters at their headquarters. Post this, their bodies were handed over to their respective families.
