Nadal jumps to 5th, Djoko still leads ATP pack

Spanish great Rafael Nadal jumped a spot to be fifth, while Britain’s Andy Murray leapfrogged Swiss icon Roger Federer for the second position in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world singles rankings released on Monday.

Nadal, who ended the year without winning a Grand Slam or Masters 1000 tournament, advanced with 4,630 points after the 14-time Major singles champion made a quarter-final finish in the Paris Masters.

Serbian Novak Djokovic held on to his No.1 spot after winning on Sunday the Paris title over Scottish Murray. Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka remained at the fourth spot.

Czech Tomas Berdych (sixth), Spaniard David Ferrer (seventh) and Japanese Kei Nishikori (eighth) dropped a place each.

American John Isner moved two places up to be 11th, while Croatian Marin Cilic went two spots below to the 13th.
