NABARD wins first prize for in-house journal

Rashtriya Bank Srijana, the quarterly Hindi in-house journal published by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), recently won the first prize at an all-India competition organised by the department of official language, Union Ministry of Home Affairs, for outstanding achievement.

President Pranab Mukherjee awarded the shield and a citation certificate to Prakash Bakshi, chairman, NABARD at an impressive ceremony held in New Delhi on 14 September, 2012.  

Speaking on the occasion, the president said the award should serve as an inspiration for others in promoting the Official Language Policy of the Government of India. Mukherjee said Hindi and other regional languages can be effectively used for promoting rural development projects in villages. Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, minister of state for home Jitendra Singh and others also attended.
