Nabadiganta to adopt unit area system to access property tax

The Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA) will adopt the unit area system to assess and streamline property tax assessment.

In unit area assessment system, the distance of a house from bus stand, hospital, market, etc are taken into consideration to assess the property tax.

The owners will be able to calculate the property tax on their own and can pay the money to NDITA. The system is transparent and the owners will be able to calculate the property tax.

Several projects at the township will be inaugurated by the state Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim on Monday. He will also lay the foundation stone of several projects.

It may be mentioned that the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) is going to introduce the unit area system to assess property tax from 2016-17 financial year.

The foundation stone of a wetland interpretation centre that is going to come up at Nabadiganta will be laid.  The main road of the industrial township will have WIFI facility.  It may be mentioned that such facility is only available on Park Street.

It benefits the students and those who do business as they can download their required items free of cost.  The banks of the water bodies along the ring road will also be beautified. Some roads of the township will be strengthened by using mastic asphalt.

The township will have  a drainage pumping station to combat waterlogging menace. Several streets of the  township are flooded and the office goers have to wend through knee deep to waist deep water. The NDITA is coming  up as a major IT hub in the state. With improved infrastructure it will be easier to woo investors to invest in IT industry.
