N-E girls eve-teased by bikers in Amar Colony
As crimes against women are on the rise in the city, a fresh case of sexual harassment of two girls hailing from <g data-gr-id="19">North-East</g> has come to light on Wednesday evening.
According to the police, two North-Eastern girls were eve-teased by two bike-borne unidentified miscreants at South-east Delhi’s Amar Colony. According to police officials, the incident took place in the evening when the duo had gone to Lajpat Nagar market for shopping.
On their way back through Amar Colony, two unidentified persons misbehaved and passed lewd comments. The women noted the vehicle’s number and registered a complaint.
A case has been registered at the Amar Colony police station against the unidentified persons under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC.
According to the police, <g data-gr-id="18">investigation</g> has started. However, till late evening there was no news of any arrest. According to sources, the bike is owned by a member of the youth wing of a political party.
