Mythology redux

The Films and Theatre society has once again come up with a series of plays to mesmerise the people of the Capital. The city saw the play Arjun ka Beta being staged recently. The ones who saw it know that the play was amazing and left all of us in owe of the team. And the ones who missed the play, here’s another chance given to all of us by the troupe. Summer Theatre Festival 2014 is being presented by the Films and Theatre Society which is five years old registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 on All India Basis.

The main objective of the society is the production and promotion of theatrical plays, short (and other) films and other performing arts such as dance and music in India, with a special focus and concentration on Indian arts. Other objectives of the society inter-alia include furtherance of literature, creative arts related to theatre and films and other art forms, and making available to its members resources connected. Another peculiar feature about the society is that in spite of being a weekend arts group it has been able to come up with productions which match up to the standards of any other professional group working in related field.

This is the reason various companies, corporate houses and other institutional bodies have shown interest and extended their support to the activities and production of the society. We are telling you a week in advance so that you can book your tickets, mark your calendars, save reminders, scribble on your stick notes. You’ll get to see plays like Couple Trouble, Saudagar (Merchant of Venice) and Woh Lahore. It has been scheduled for weekends so you don’t have to check on your appointments. We hope to meet you there, head on!
