My birth biggest gift for everyone: Salman Khan

Salman Khan is known for entertaining people with his witty one-liners and the superstar, who turns 47 Thursday, was seen in a similar avatar on his birthday too.

Asked which is the best gift that he has received so far, Salman, on a lighter note, said: ‘Main paida ho gaya yeh hi sabse bada gift hai sabke liye (My birth is the biggest gift for everyone).’

Each year, Salman celebrates his birthday with his friends and family at his farm house, but this year, he says there is no party as such.

‘There is no party as such. Friends and families have been wishing me since morning,’ the actor told reporters at his Galaxy Apartments home.

Though Salman says there is no birthday bash, reports suggest that he, along with his family, will leave for Panvel in the afternoon, where there will be a celebration with close family and friends.

Meanwhile, within six days of its release, Dabangg 2 has entered the Rs 100 crore-club with collections amounting to Rs 100.78 crore.

Dabangg 2 is the sequel to the 2010 release Dabangg, which was set in a village and had the rustic, rural flavour of Uttar Pradesh. The story of the sequel has shifted to a posh metropolitan city.

Made under the banner of Arbaaz Khan Productions, Dabangg 2 has been written by Dilip Shukla.

This is Arbaaz’s first film as a director. The film released in over 3,500 screens across India 21 December.

This year has been very lucky for Salman. Kabir Khan-directed Ek Tha Tiger was an Eid release and set the cash registers ringing, but Dabangg 2 achieved this feat in spite of being a non-holiday release.
