Mumbai traders to keep shops closed today

The Federation of Associations of Maharashtra has called on its constituents and the trading community to observe a bandh in Maharashtra on Monday as a mark of respect to Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray, who passed away on Saturday.

‘The state of Maharashtra and the trading community has lost a true friend. Balasaheb was a great son of the soil and a true nationalist who minced no words to express his views,’ FAM president Mohan Gurnani said.

Mumbai Jewellers too will keep establishments closed on Monday. ‘Retailers, wholesalers and jewellers will keep their establishments closed,’ said Kumar Jain, vice-president of the Mumbai Bullion Association.
