Mukul Roy assures cooperation in CBI investigation

Trinamool Congress (TMC) general secretary and former railway minister Mukul Roy will appear before CBI for questioning in connection with the Saradha ponzi scam on January 30.

Speaking to the media persons at Dum Dum airport in Kolkata, Roy said, “On WednesdayI have returned to Kolkata and as I said previously that I will cooperate with the probe agency. I have been asked to appear before the CBI on January 30, and I will appear before them on that day and participate in the probe.”

Roy was summoned couple of times by the probe agency in the Saradha scam but due to his official scheduled he was unable to appear before them. For the last few days he was frequently travelling to Delhi following CBI summons. On Wednesday, he went to Kolkata and upon his arrival in Kolkata, he assured of his cooperation with the probe agency in the midst of Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government as well as the ruling Trinamool’s petition before the Supreme Court alleging that the summons was instrumented by BJP-led central government.
