Mufti meets J&K Guv on govt formation

Amid the continuing political stalemate, PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has met Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra apparently to discuss a way out, two days after his party turned down National Conference’s offer of support.

The meeting took place at Raj Bhawan on Friday night night but details were not known. “They had a two-hour dinner meeting and are understood to have discussed government formation and political stalemate in the state. The details of the meeting are not known,” the source said. PDP spokesperson Nayeem Akhtar said he was not aware about what transpired in the meeting.

The meeting came two days after PDP turned down the offer of support by NC for formation of government in the state.Earlier on January 13, NC’s Working President Omar Abdullah had written to the Governor, formally informing him about his party’s support to PDP for government formation.
