More time needed for Telangana: Cong

The Congress core group, including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, party president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi, has once again postponed the decision on demands for a separate Telangana state.

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has said after the party’s core group meeting over the issue of Telangana, that the core group had decided that the final call on Telangana would be taken by the Congress Working Committee.
Union home minister Sushil Shinde also assured a delegation of political parties supporting the creation of a separate state of Telangana, that they would very soon hear good news in connection with the issue.
