The Union government is launching the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for LPG scheme in 20 high-Aadhaar coverage districts from June 1. The scheme aims to provide subsidies to consumers in their bank accounts.
To avail of subsidy in their bank accounts, LPG consumers must get an Aadhaar number. Then they must open a bank account with Aadhaar number. If they already a bank account, they must link their Aadhaar number with their bank account or through a request form available with LPG distributors and deposit it in the drop boxes placed at LPG distributors’ premises.
