Mohan Bhagwat tells BJP to take AAP challenge seriously
RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat has warned the Bhartiya Janata Party to take the Aam Aadmi Party as a serious political opponent in the Lok Sabha elections. ‘The BJP must take the AAP challenge seriously,’ Bhagwat said during a meeting attended by senior BJP leaders in Hyderabad. The meeting was attended by BJP president Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and Ram Lal. Referring to AAP, RSS asked the BJP to make changes in the party’s working style and step up poll preparation strategies, especially in forming booth committees. The saffron party has also been asked to make its politics more inclusive and participatory. According to TV reports, BJP chief Rajnath Singh has been pulled up for the party’s strategy against the new party. Rajnath Singh on Thursday interacted with the RSS leaders, including its chief Mohan Bhagwat, and took stock of the current political scenario. The meeting came on the concluding day of the three-day meeting of the Sangh fountainhead at Shamirpet on the outskirts of Hyderabad, an event out of bounds for the media. ‘These meetings are mainly meant for exchange of views. Leaders of various Sangh outfits attended the meeting’, an RSS functionary said.
