Modi, Amitabh to attend MSY’s grand nephew wedding ceremony

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and superstar Amitabh Bachchan are among the VVIPs likely to participate in the pre-wedding ceremony of  Tej Pratap, the grand nephew of Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, who has sent about one lakh invites for the occasion, which is scheduled on Saturday at Saifai village in Uttar Pradesh.

Heavy arrangements are being planned and the guests will taste wide range of cuisines. Apart from national and international dishes, the menu will also include UP specific dishes like bedai, baati-chokha and halwa.

Tej Pratap Singh, the Lok Sabha member from Mainpuri is going to marry Raj Laxmi, the daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi on February 26 in New Delhi. Narendra Modi has confirmed his presence for the pre-wedding ceremony. The Prime Minister’s Special Protection Group [SPG] has already visited Saifai to asses the security preparations being made.

Bollywood actors, singers, all union ministers, chief ministers of all states and bureaucrats have been sent invitations too.

At Saifai, German Hanger style tents to cover 80,000 square feet of open space are being set up, and a guest list of top names from Indian politics, industry and films is being drawn up. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of the Special Protection Group (SPG) Vivek Anand and his team joined the DGP at Saifai on Wednesday for a four-hour-long route inspection and a security drill which included mock movement of PM’s fleet.

An Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft undertook the complete process of landing and take off rehearsal at Saifai airport to ensure zero disruption during the PM’s visit. Apart from officials of the state home department, senior officials from the civil aviation department also visited Saifai airport to ensure smooth operations.
