Mob ransacks tutor’s house for molesting school student
A mob ransacked the house of a private tutor after he had allegedly molested a class VI student at Burdwan’s Bhatar on Sunday morning. The accused Bechuram Roy and his wife Meera Roy were injured when they were beaten up by local residents. They were admitted to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
Police have arrested nine people for beating up the couple and ransacking their house. Police said the victim used to go to Bechuram’s house for private tuition at Sunurgram village.
On Saturday, the victim had also went to Bechuram’s house when he had allegedly molested her.
The victim was traumatised after she reached the house.
When her family members asked her if something wrong might have happened to her, she narrated the entire incident to her parents. After this, infuriated villagers attacked the tutor’s house.
After hearing the incident, police had reached the spot and rescued the couple who were badly injured.
They had taken the couple to a village hospital in Bhatar but they were later shifted to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital. The girl’s father, who is a mason, informed the matter to police after he came to know about the matter.
When the villagers came to know, they decided to teach the accused a lesson and went to his house.
