Mob goes on rampage over illegal parking space

Tension ran high at Beckbagan area on Wednesday night after a clash broke out between two groups over parking of cars. Police said that around 8 cars were damaged when the mob went on the rampage damaging the cars. The incident broke out when the two group members got involved in a quarrel which led to a scuffle between the two groups. The agitated mob also ransacked some local shops and portion of two adjacent houses.

Police said that two groups were fighting to take possession over an illegal parking place at Beckbagan. The accused also damaged government property and also heckled the local residents. They did not spare the women living in the areas. The women were also harassed by the group members who had become furious when the trouble broke out.

Police said that the two groups were trying to take the possession of the parking place for quite sometimes. But on Wednesday the situation went beyond the control.
