MLAs go shirtless in UP assembly

UP assembly session began on Wednesday on a stormy note, with BSP and RLD members raising anti- government slogans and holding protests during governor’s address to the joint session.

As soon as the proceedings of the joint house began at 11am, the BSP members climbed on their benches displaying banner and placards, and raised issues from law and order to farmers plight, besides demanding dismissal of the government.

Two RLD members took out their 'kurtas' in protest against the SP government, which they termed as ‘anti-farmers’.

The MLAs — Veer Pal and Sudesh Sharma — were demanding payment of cane dues and trying to highlight the plight of cane farmers.

From the government side, parliamentary minister Mohammad Azam Khan counterattacked and said they were shameless people, who have no right as they have looted the people of the state.
