Miscreants snatch gold chain from morning walker

In a shocking incident, two miscreants looted valuables from a morning walker at the Royal Park area on Belghoria-Kalyani Expressway on Wednesday morning.

The incident triggered tension in the area. Police said that the victim, Sikha Debnath, an elderly woman was taking a stroll in the area under Titagarh police station when two miscreants came on a motorbike and snatched a gold chain from the woman. Within a few seconds, the accused disappeared from the spot.

The victim has told the police that the miscreants had come from behind and snatched away the chain. She also received some injuries on her neck following the incident. She told the police that the miscreants sped up their bike and fled the spot. As it was early in the morning, the road was empty and the miscreants had taken advantage. On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim, the police have started an investigation in this connection. The police were conducting raids in various parts of the states to nab the culprits.

Meanwhile, it may be mentioned that Police has arrested three miscreants who were trying to flee after snatching valuables from a businessman at Sukantanagar area under Airport police station a few days ago. After the interrogation, police came to know that a theft racket had been operational in the area. The police were investigating whether the accused are a part of this gang.

A few days ago, three miscreants stopped a businessman who was returning home on his motorcycle and looted valuables and cash from him. But they were caught by the police when they were trying to flee the spot. The night patrolling car came to know that the miscreants were fleeing with the valuables and managed to catch them. The businessman, Shyamal Biswas was returning home at midnight when the incident took place near the Belghoria Expressway.
