Miscreants loot bizman by spiking his food

Miscreants looted valuables from a businessman by making him consume spiked food inside a state run bus in Malda. Police said that the bus conductor, Sasanka Majumder found a person lying unconscious in his seat when the bus was about the reach Malda. He informed the matter to his colleagues after the bus had reached Malda bus terminus. They also informed the local police station about the incident. The person was soon taken to Malda Medical College and Hospital for treatment. He was later shifted to a private nursing home in Malda. After being informed police reached the spot and started an investigation in this regard. Police said that the victim, Montu Pal is a jewellery shop owner and a resident of North 24 Parganas. He boarded the bus from Barasat on Monday night and was going to Malda for some business purpose. Police said that the miscreants have looted gold from the victim which was inside his bag.

After interrogating the bus conductor, the police came to know that two youth were sitting by the side of the victim who got down just after it had crossed Farakka. Police are trying to identify the youth. As per the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the accused had a prior knowledge that the victim was carrying valuables inside his bag. Police are yet to confirm how many miscreants were involved in the crime. Police suspect that the accused might have been well acquainted with the victim and was travelling with the victim.
