Miscreants decamp with valuables from bizman’s home

Miscreants looted valuables worth nearly a few lakh rupees and hard cash from the house of a businessman in Nadia.

The incident had taken place at Natun Buicha Sahapar area of Shantipur on late Saturday night. The incident had triggered tension in the area. The victim, Sanjay Sarkar who runs a building material supply business in the area told the police that a gang comprising five miscreants raided his house on Saturday night.

Police said that Sanjay Sarkar lives in the house with his wife Supriya and mother Anjali Sarkar. As his mother was away from the house, her room was locked from outside. The miscreants broke into the house and the entered into the room by breaking the lock. The businessman told the police that accused also broke the door. The way the accused carried out the operation makes it seem like the miscreants had prior knowledge about the ornaments. 

Sarkar told the police that early in the morning when he woke up he found that the door was lying broken and valuables were missing from the house. He immediately called his neighbours who in turn informed the police. Police started an investigation in this regard. 

The victim told the police that ornament worth a few lakh rupees were looted from the almirah along with some hard cash. Police suspect that the accused have been acquainted with the family. They are interrogating the domestic helps of the house in this connection. Police suspect that some local criminals might have been involved in the incident.
