Minor sexually assaulted

A two-and-half-year-old minor girl was sexually assaulted on Tuesday by a man who was now on the run, police said.
Dalbir, 32, stayed next door to the victim’s room in Dundahera near here and assaulted the minor when she was alone, police said. The victim’s father works as a security guard.
‘I don’t know how my daughter reached the accused’s (Dalbir’s) room. I noticed her coming out of the room crying,’ the minor’s mother told the police. ‘We received a phone call regarding the incident around 11.30 am. We immediately informed the police and the victim was taken to civil hospital for medical examination,’ NGO Farishtay’s secretary Anju Negi said.
‘We have registered a case in Udyog Vihar police station against Dalbir who is absconding,’ Mulchand, investigation officer (IO) said.
‘An FIR has been lodged on the basis of the medical report of the victim that confirms the rape attempt,’ he added. The minor’s family hails from Odisha while the accused is from Uttar Pradesh.action against police brass for their lapses. He had said that officials below Station House Officer (SHO) rank act on their own, giving scant regard to orders from superiors.
Incidentally, the MP’s mother and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has been demanding that Delhi Police be brought under the control of the city government.
