Minor rejig: IAS, IPS officers reshuffled

In a minor reshuffle in both the IAS and IPS cadre in Bengal, district magistrates of two districts have been changed, along with the director of Directorate of Economic Offences wing.

Chaitali Chakrborty has become the new district magistrate of Howrah, replacing Subhanjan Das, who has become the Joint Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department.

Rachna Bhagat, who was the additional district magistrate of South 24 Parganas, has become the district magistrate of Jalpaiguri.

Jawed Shamim has become the Inspector General of Police (Enforcement Branch).

Shamim was previously  the director of the Directorate of Economic Offences wing.

The new director of the wing is Sanjay Singh, who was previously the Additional Director General (Enforcement Branch).

Tanmoy Ray Chowdhuri is the new deputy director of Directorate of Economic Offences wing, while Kalyan Mallick has become the new IG, Telecom.

The reshuffling of officers has taken place keeping in mind their efficiency and performance in their positions.
