Minor girls raped in two separate incidents

Meanwhile in a similar incident, at Kolkata’s New Town, a minor boy was arrested on the charge of raping another minor girl. The Bidhannagar City Police have started investigating the incident. Meanwhile, the minor boy was taken to the Juvenile Justice Court.

In the South Dinajpur incident, the accused Salman Hembram (20) was arrested on Friday. Police said that the girl was alone in her house. His grandfather and grandmother, both were out of the house for some work.

Salman scaled the wall and reached the seven-year-old girl. She was given a lozenge which was originally a sleeping pill. The girl fell asleep after taking the pill, and the youth raped her there.

In New Town, the girl was playing with a minor boy, when the boy allegedly raped her in a vacant play ground. The accused boy (13) was seen running from the field and the locals caught him there. The girl was writhing in pain, as the locals rescued her and took her to a health centre.

“The accused boy, who has acknowledged his crime to us, is a minor. He was reported to the Juvenile Justice Court. He was produced before the court and later taken to a home. We’ll do what whatever the court will say,” said a police officer.
