Minor girl kills self on the morning of board exam

A 17-year-old girl, studying in standard XIIth leaped to death by jumping from the eighth floor of the multi-storeyed building she lived in at Noida’s Sector 61 on Monday morning. Police said that the girl committed suicide, under pressure, on the day of her Physics paper in the CBSE board exam. However, no suicide note has been found.

According to the police, the incident took place around 6 am, when a resident of the apartment informed of the girl jumping from the eighth floor of the tower. The police found her body in a pool of blood; took her to the nearby hospital, where she was declared brought dead. Police identified her as Shambhavi Rai, a student of Alcon International School, Mayur Vihar Phase-I. The family belongs to Azamgarh and has been living in the apartment for 10 years.
