Minor boys’ escapade foiled at Alipurduar station

Four minor boys were apprehended by the Government Railway Police (GRP) from Alipurduar station on Tuesday. The four boys had run away from their homes and had apparently decided to go on an adventure. They boarded the train from Siliguri railway station and deboarded at Alipurduar station. A passenger, Suvendu Burman, saw the boys on the train and their behaviour made him suspicious.

Burman stopped the boys at one of the platforms of Alipurduar station and stopped them from fleeing the place. He subsequently called up the GRP and reported the incident to them. GRP personnel promptly took the boys to the police station and called up the guardians of the four juveniles.

“Those boys were coming from a good family background. They saw a short film in which the hero had undertaken an adventure. Inspired by the film’s characters, the boys together took the decision to go to an adventure without telling their parents,” said a GRP officer.
