Mid-day meal tasty and satisfactory: Manish Gupta

The municipal commissioner of South Delhi Municipal Corporation Manish Gupta on Friday morning inspected distribution of mid-day meal and tasted it in two schools.
‘I tasted rice and chole at two primary schools located in Jaitpur and Okhla. The food was tasty, satisfactory for consumption and hygienic,’ Gupta said. ‘However, food containers were slightly dirty, old and not closed properly.
I directed the NGO concerned to take steps to improve the system,’ he added. He told the officials that any compromise on the quality of mid-day meals will not be tolerated.
Any lapse regarding this shall be dealt with seriously and action will be taken against the defaulters. Gupta also took stock of security arrangements, sanitary conditions of kitchens and other related services being provided in these municipal schools.
