Metro to impose parking restrictions on Aug 14, 15

Parking lots in Delhi Metro stations will remain closed from August 14 till next day afternoon in keeping with Independence Day security measures. The parking premises will be cleaned during the brief closure period during which the authorities have also planned an inspection drive.

“Parking facilities will not be available at Delhi Metro stations from 6 am on August 14 till 2 pm on August 15 in view of the security measures adopted on the occasion of Independence Day,” an official said.

Meanwhile, security measures have been stepped up in the national Capital ahead of Independence Day following a series of attacks in crowded places around the world.

Over a dozen mock drills are being conducted by security agencies every day in and around the Red Fort area to thwart possible terror threats during the Independence Day celebrations on August 15 in Delhi.
