METRO OBSERVES SWACHCH SAHYOG

As part of the ‘Swachhta Saptah’ under the ‘Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat’ programme, Thursday was observed as ‘Swachch Sahyog Divas’, or Cleanliness Participation Day, by the Kolkata Metro Railway.

A comprehensive cleanliness awareness campaign was organised at Esplanade Metro Railway station, where Swami Amalatmanandaji Adhyaksha Maharaj and Swami Shivapremananda Maharaj of Ramakrishna Math Yogodyan spoke about the importance of cleanliness. 

Kolkata Metro General Manager MC Chauhan, in his speech, stressed upon cleanliness in trains, stations & Metro premises to maintain a healthy environment. Students of Bagbazar Sarada Prathamik Vidyalaya, Medical Bank – an NGO – and members of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Metro Railway Unit, participated in the campaign. 

A mime show and a <g data-gr-id="12">nukkad</g> drama were staged to create awareness among passengers about cleanliness. A Baul Sangeet performance by <g data-gr-id="13">Monimohan</g> Das Baul and his group also took place.
