Messi reaches Champions League century

FC Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has promised more on-field magic in the future after making his 100th Champions League appearance for the Spanish giants in Wednesday's 1-1 group stage draw against AS Roma. Defending champions Barcelona opened their account in the 2015-16 season of the competition by bagging a point in the Italian capital, with Alessandro Florenzi's wonder goal from the halfway line denying the visitors full points. Luis Suarez scored for Barcelona.

Messi, who became the youngest ever footballer to reach a century of Champions League games, said he is still hungry for more success.

"I'm really happy to have played 100 games in the best club competition in the world," the 28-year forward wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday. There have been a lot of European nights to remember and there are many more magic nights to come," the Argentine football icon added.
