Merging the boundaries
Khoj International Artistes Association’s recently concluded, Art and Fashion show in the Capital. Over the last two years, Khoj has invited several artistes and practitioners from within fashion to create fusion between the two disciplines. Through a series of residencies and related programmes, artists-in-residence have explored myriad themes within fashion and have opened up several exciting avenues of inquiry.

Artist Anjana Kothamachu, has created an installation whose material is as complex as the title of the work The Phantasmogaric Menagerie. Kothamachu is working on the concept of desire which motivates an individual. The work takes form as sculpture, drawing and video. ‘My attempt is to translate the body’s relationship with desire into visual narrative and is woven from everyday rhythms, rituals, myths and stories’.

The participating artists were Bracia - a duo consisting of Aga Klepacka and Maciek Chorazy, Kallol Datta, Réka Gottlieb from Hungary, Anjana Kothamachu, Pallavi Paul and Elena Pereira Netherlands/India based artiste.
