Mentally unstable MAn held at kerry’s hotel

A 56-year-old habitual offender who is mentally unstable was detained by Delhi Police after he was found holding a sharp object in the lobby of The Leela Palace Hotel on Tuesday where John Kerry, the US Secretary of State is staying. He confessed that he wanted to attack John Kerry. The accused has been identified as Uday Ratra, a native of Sangoor in Punjab . He was currently residing in Gurgaon and he was once blacklisted by the hotel in South Delhi after he misconducted in the hotel. The incident came to light on Tuesday at around 2.20 pm when Kerry was supposed to go somewhere and he was about the reach the lobby. 

In the meantime, a security guard in the hotel found a sharp object in the hand of Uday and the guard raised an alarm. Soon after the guard raised alarm, Uday tried to escape but the guard overpowered him and in the meantime other guards managed to nab him. Immediately police was informed and he was taken to Sarojini Nagar police station. After being grilled for almost an hour, he confessed that he had an intention to attack John Kerry. “During investigation it was learnt that Uday is a habitual offender and he was previously arrested once by South Delhi Police after a case of theft was registered in Saket police station,” a police official said. A case under the Sections 186, 353, 332 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against Uday. More police force was deployed at the hotel for protection.
